My Turn Life Coaching
My coach Rikki was exceptional; she knows her skill very well and treated me with kindness and firmness in a vulnerable time when I needed both. There were definitely days that I didn't want to work on my job search (I didn't want to do ANYTHING) but I made myself stay engaged and I'm very glad I did. If I lagged a week, Rikki would reach out and check in, which always prompted me to work on my next step of the process and schedule my next meeting with her. Unemployment is a tricky time to navigate – Rikki’s services were life changing for me. Most importantly, I landed a job that actually made me glad I was released from my last one!

Working with Rikki has been an insightful experience! The information I learned was incredibly valuable! Rikki is fun, intelligent, honest, and very very helpful. I found a job in just under four weeks with her assistance and guidance.

If you're searching for a career coach, Rikki is your lady! I have been working with Rikki as I make a major move in my life and pursue changing careers. I am not surprised that she would be awarded one of the best career coaches in Michigan. She has been diligent and succinct; all of her coaching has been top notch, and much appreciated!”

Rikki is a ROCKSTAR! She made me feel comfortable and confident throughout the entire process. She explained everything and took the time to listen to me. She also stayed in contact during my interviews and made sure I was ready for each one. I would recommend her coaching services to anyone. By the way, I interviewed and was offered a position on the spot after only five sessions with her. Among other things, I think it's because she made me feel worthy of my next job.

Simply put, Rikki's methods work. In an extremely competitive job market, she helped me get noticed. After working with her, I received several requests for interviews in a short period of time, and ultimately I ended up getting a great job doing what I love. She covered everything from résumé building, to updating my LinkedIn profile, to networking, to interviewing, to negotiating the best possible compensation package. I highly recommend Rikki to anyone looking for career coaching!!!

Rikki was a great coach and challenged me to recognize that I needed to change my approach to updating my resume and LI Profile. They both received high praise and traction from recruiters right out of the gate. She exceeded my expectations in ways I had not anticipated.

Rikki turned my old resume into one that was much more engaging and results driven. She also coached me through how to network and interview more confidently. She was particularly helpful in keeping me focused on the important things and keeping my mind open and receptive throughout (which, I’ve been told, by reputable sources, I’m not particularly good at doing 😉). I found a job 2 weeks after our 4th appointment.

Rikki was awesome. Her unique positivity, understanding, insightfulness, and patience made it an immense pleasure to work with her. She actually helped me make the decision to retire without fear or guilt, and I’ve never been happier. Highly HIGHLY recommended.
I can't say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Rikki. Every time we met, I felt more confident about myself and my career. She was a delight to talk to and always had clear insights. She didn’t just tell me what to do, but created a genuinely collaborative experience with which to craft the right personal branding and marketing. So grateful to have worked with her.

Rikki Schwartz immediately put herself into my unique experience and I could tell she was 100% invested in my success. As such, I felt a strong connection with her early on and throughout the process. Her positivity, infectious energy, knowledge and intuition are unmatched. Most importantly, I just accepted an offer from a prominent cybersecurity company, making substantially more than at my last job. Big thanks!!

Rikki’s superpower lies in her ability to connect and drive people to help themselves. She personifies ‘tough love’.

Rikki, I wanted to thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me to help me land a new job. It’s so true that ‘we don’t know what we don’t know’. In particular, the 3 interviewing documents you provided yesterday (‘64 Tough Questions’, ‘Interview Questions You Should Ask’, and the list of 22 ‘behavioral questions’) were instrumental in what I’m certain was a ‘knocked-it-out-of-the park’ interview today. Turns out I met with 4 VPs (not 2 as the recruiter thought was going to be the case). They asked several of the ‘tough questions’ in your document, and thanks to my prepping with it, I was able to respond quickly and with confidence. 2 of the VPs also did a role-play with me, where we played out an employee conflict. I could tell they had already interviewed several candidates, but I could tell as the interview progressed that I had captured and retained their interest. In the end, I got a tour of the North building (that campus is HUGE…and very impressive) and they told me to expect a job offer by the end of the week (which I plan to accept – AFTER you coach me through negotiating it). Your coaching has been a game-changer. I honestly don’t know how to thank you.

[After re-reading the personal branding paragraph we wrote for her together] Wow…who is that woman? I mean, I know it’s me, but I’ve always struggled with self-confidence, particularly now, after being let go, and this just boosted my self-esteem by 1,000%. This is amazing. I feel so much relief and hope. Thank you, Rikki!

I got a pretty good job with a large Detroit-based title insurance company right out of college, with no professional experience of any kind to speak of before that. It was a great job, but my responsibilities were mostly limited to Title research. So when I was one of hundreds of people that the company laid off in May 2022, I had no idea where I would go from there. I knew I didn’t want to go back into Title work (since the mortgage industry was still pretty unstable), but I had no idea what kind of job I would like, or how to get it. My mom did some Google research and found Rikki’s website, so I signed up for a complimentary consultation. I had no idea what to expect, but she made me feel comfortable and hopeful right away. After 3 appointments, she was able to combine my “soft” and my “hard” skills to come up with a “functional title” (“Client Support Specialist”) and “personal brand” that would make me attractive to recruiters for all different kinds of customer service and administrative positions. From there, we used that same information to update my resume, LinkedIn profile and job search strategies. Within 3 weeks, a recruiter found me on LinkedIn and (long story short), I start a new job in 2 weeks. There is no possible way I could have found such a good job so quickly without Rikki’s help.

After years, I never imagined I would be downsized from my company, but suddenly I was called into a team meeting on Zoom, and 15 of us were let go at the same time. It was horrible. I suddenly felt so angry, scared and hopeless. At 58, I hadn’t even thought about my resume in decades, and couldn’t imagine finding another job (particularly at my age) in today’s post-pandemic market. I did not know where to start, so for weeks, I did nothing. Finally, my sister, who had purchased Rikki’s career transition services for her son, strongly recommended her coaching approach to me, so I signed up for a 5-appointment package the next day. By the end of the first appointment, she had restored my faith in myself, my value, and my reemployment chances. She helped me figure out my “personal brand”, and from there, we created a targeted resume that would make it through the dreaded ATS filters, AND attract the types of positions and companies that would be the best fit for me (and vice versa) . From there, she taught me how to update and optimize the algorithm of my LinkedIn profile. Lastly, she taught me the tips and trends associated with networking, interviewing and negotiating. About 1 month after our last appointment, I had a new job…AND even managed to negotiate a great compensation/benefits package! More importantly, It’s a job that meets my needs and personality in every way! It’s hard to express my gratitude and appreciation. Life is better now that before I was laid off. Who woulda thought that was even possible?? Rikki did.

So, I had been in an unhealthy relationship for 14 years; and friends had been telling me for years to get out. After 4 sessions with Rikki, I moved out of his house, and I’ve never felt better or healthier. I’m so grateful to her.

I’ve been working at a job that I hate for almost 9 years, but shear laziness (and Rikki might say some other stuff) had always kept me from looking for other jobs. My wife suggested life coaching (since I think she hates my job more than I do!). I didn’t really know much about life coaching (felt a little new-age-y to me), but happy wife, happy life --- so I found “My Turn” on Google. Much to my surprise, it wasn’t touch-feely at all. Rikki helped me put together practical and strategic PATH that made so much sense – and it was fast! I don’t have a new job yet, but Rikki helped me update my resume and my LinkedIn Profile, and for the first time in over 8 years, I’m actively job hunting. It feels pretty good just to submit applications – like I haven’t given up (which is a good feeling). I wish I hadn’t waited this long, but more than anything I kinda hate that my wife was right!

I had never considered life coaching before, but it was actually my therapist that recommended I give it a try. She has another patient that sees her for therapy and sees Rikki for life coaching. At first, I thought that the services would be redundant, but in my case, my therapist explained that I could continue to work on my anxiety disorder with her, while Rikki and I work on my professional goals (that I had always been afraid to pursue in the past, mostly due to my anxiety disorder). And she was right! I knew from our first coaching session that she is an amazing intuit. She didn’t waste any time cutting to the core of my professional paralysis. We met once a week for 6 weeks, and the results have been unbelievable. For real. If you’re thinking about life coaching, take advantage of her free first coaching session, and you’ll never look back!
